In Africa, some families travel dozens of kilometers before obtaining a consultation. In rural areas or during crises, medical infrastructure is insufficient, hospitals are overcrowded, or specialists are nonexistent.
But this reality does not only affect developing countries.
In the United States, millions of people give up seeing a specialist every year due to the cost of care or excessively high health insurance. In Europe, waiting times for certain medical appointments can reach several weeks, even months. In war zones, during humanitarian disasters, or in isolated regions, access to care sometimes becomes almost impossible.
Health should never depend on a zip code, income, a border, or a geopolitical situation.
It is to respond to this human urgency that GALIMED AI was born.
